VARIOKLAV MODULE OPTIONS

Modules for emission-free sterilisation of hazardous substances with exhaust air filtration and condensate sterilisation

Steam sterilisers are subject to special technical requirements whenever a laboratory works with genetically modified organisms, infectious material or pathogens. These always apply in safety level 2 laboratories, and in S1 laboratories if biological agents of RG1 with sensitising or toxic effects are to be autoclaved. A fractionated pre-vacuum can be used to effectively deactivate contaminated solid waste. The condensate produced must also be sterilised and must remain in the autoclave for the entire sterilisation process. Exhaust air filtration ensures the aerosol protection required for safety level 2 and higher.

This makes our FA module suitable for the sterile disposal of potentially infectious laboratory waste of protection classes 2 to 4 as well as for the sterile disposal of GMOs from laboratories of safety levels 2 to 4. Short pipe lengths ensure a constant sterilisation temperature even in the exhaust air filter, which can be replaced particularly quickly and easily.

FA Module – Exhaust Air Filtration and Condensate Sterilisation for VARIOKLAV Autoclaves

Our module option for the safe sterilisation of hazardous materials enables efficient autoclaving at the highest safety standards: during the heating phase, aerosols in the exhaust air are filtered out, keeping the room air free of contamination. The chamber contents, the condensate produced and the filter housing including the filter are also sterilised with each sterilisation process. The condensate is disposed of after successful sterilisation via a dead-space-free drain valve in the chamber floor, which makes for particularly simple and contamination-free disposal of the condensate water. The FA module switches off automatically in the event of a malfunction in the media supply or an unexpected programme interruption. The FA module for exhaust air filtration with condensate sterilisation can be optimally combined with VARIOKLAV cooling, vacuum and drying modules.
